Coast Pavilion
A threshold between sea and land; shade and breeze under a single thin shell.
Coast Pavilion is a light structure offering shade, water and rest on a public beach. A single curved shell keeps supports to a minimum and leaves the horizon free.
The deck beneath the shell is designed like a platform that wets with the tide. Visitors walk along a curve that lowers gently towards the sea.
It is built from a demountable system that can be taken apart and reassembled, standing without leaving a permanent mark on the shore.
